Plans for my return to Salt Lake City

Plans are being made for my return to Salt Lake City. The people from Bayer HealthCare and the Utah Diabetes Center and I have agreed that my return to Salt Lake City should be on October 19. I’ll plan on riding to the Utah Diabetes Center from Lehi that day. The exact time they want me to be there is still being worked out.

A number of people have expressed an interest in riding into town with me. I’d love to have the company. Ideally, I would have ridden into town on a Saturday — the 14th or the 21st — to make it easier for people to come out and ride with me. Well, I hate to admit it but my tired legs won’t get me there by the 14th. Pat and I are both pretty anxious to get home and arriving on the 21st would involve some extra rest days that we just don’t want to take at this point. So, the 19th was the best compromise we could reach.

If you’d like to ride with me that day, here’s some detail about my ride that day.

Location: Description:
Thanksgiving Point 3000 N Thanksgiving Way
Lehi, Utah
Ride start. Time: TBD
Draper City Park 12500 South 1300 East
Wheeler Historic Farm 6351 South 900 East
Sugarhouse Park north side of park by 1500 East entrance
Utah Diabetes Center 615 Arapeen Drive
Salt Lake City, UT
Ride end. Time: TBD

I’ve chosen a couple well-known Salt Lake City landmarks as intermediate points in case some people want to join in somewhere else besides Lehi.

    Hi Pete!

I am so excited about your return, and we are all planning on welcoming you home at the Diabetes Center. Congratulations!

I don’t know if you remember me mentioning our WCU Leadership Development Institutes and how they have people give short talks (like 10-15 minutes) about their connection to purpose of work or life activities, etc….. Anyway, as the excitement about your tour coming home builds, I suggested that they invite you to give a brief ‘connect to purpose’ at our next meeting, which is Oct 25&26 at the stadium. And the curriculum committee thought it would be a great idea! One the first day, it’s all of the supervisors, and on the second day it’s managers and directors. They would like you to do a brief talk at both, right before lunch time. Would you be interested in this? I hope you say yes!!! We can talk further, but I wanted you to start thinking about it and if you can commit, they will finalize the program.

Let me know what you think. I’m taking some time off this week but usually have my cell phone with me.

    Thanks, Pete!
