October 2: Rest day in Klamath Falls, Oregon
A special treat today! Pat and I actually went on a bike ride together!
We did an out-and-back ride on the 8 mile paved section of the OC&E Woods Line State Trail (see also the entry for OC&E Woods Line State Trail on wikipedia.org).
The OC&E Woods Line State Trail heads east for a hundred miles from Klamath Falls. I was hoping the trail might be suitable (i.e., either paved or its gravel packed well enough) for me to ride it tomorrow instead of Highway 39 which I’m afraid might be as busy as Highway 97.
After riding eight miles of the OC&E, it crosses highway 140. On the other side, the trail is sand and loosely packed gravel. It looks like I’ll be taking Highway 39!
Still, it was a great outing. Pat and I haven’t been out on a bike ride together since May, when we rode part of the Blue Ridge Parkway together.
