Adventures for the cure
I got an email recently from Adam Driscoll, who is one of three guys cycling across the United States this summer on fixed gear bikes.
Yep, that’s right. They plan to ride roughly 6000 miles from Seattle, Washington to Ocean City, Maryland on bicyles with one gear. For comparison, my bicycle for The Dream Tour has 30 gears.
Their mission is to raise funds and awareness for the American Diabetes Association and Kupenda for the Children, an organization that provides support for children with disabilities in Africa. You can read more about their adventures here:
There’s a chance that I will cross paths with these guys as they’re headed east. It looks like we’re both going to be in the Chicago area towards the end of July. It would be great to meet up with them.

Peter,
My name is Jesse Stump and I am one of the three riders biking across the country on fixed gear bikes. Thank you so much for helping us spread the word! We loved reading your blog and hearing about the great strives you have made to show that diabetics can do anything. Check out our site in the next couple of days beacuse we plan to mention your ride in our daily blog. Thanks again.
