Meeting other Bayer Dream Fund winners
When I was in Washington D.C. recently for the annual scientific sessions conference of the American Diabetes Association, I had the privilege of meeting two of the previous winners of the Bayer Dream Fund. Here we all are gathered at the Bayer HealthCare booth:
Immediately to my left is Kathryn Gregorio Palmer, the 2004 winner, whose dream was to write a book for parents who have diabetes (you can pre-order it on Amazon.com). To her left is Colleen McCarthy LaPierre, who’s dream was to become scuba-certified, and then to offer, without charge, a scuba-camp program to teenagers with diabetes.
